On Wednesday, 28 October 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., the ECM event “Professional Liability in Mental Health Care” will take place in Room B of the Department of Human Neurosciences, Viale dell’Università 30, Rome.
The course, which awards 6 ECM credits, will explore the main aspects of professional liability in mental health services, with particular attention to clinical, medico-legal and organisational issues.
Topics will include civil and criminal liability, Law No. 24/2017, suicide risk management, aggression and violence, psychiatric emergencies, medical documentation and the prevention of litigation. The National Action Plan for Mental Health 2025–2030 will provide the framework for addressing issues related to patient safety, continuity of care and the prevention of disputes.
The scientific coordinators of the event are Prof. Stefano Ferracuti and Dr Dalila Tripi.
The event will be held in person. The registration fee is €50, and registrations are open until 26 October 2026.
