Governance

This section of the website illustrates the governance structure of the department. The department is led by the Director, who represents the structure in all legal matters and ensures its autonomy and cultural unity.

To fulfill its institutional duties, the department has organizational and administrative autonomy regarding all expenditure, contractual, and conventional measures that directly concern it, involving both public and private entities, in compliance with current legislation. However, it does not have the authority to issue general administrative provisions or matters reserved for other bodies as identified by the Sapienza Statute.

The governing bodies of the department are: the Department Council, the Director, and the Executive Board. The Department Director is assisted in managing departmental activities by the Delegated Administrative Manager, who oversees the Administrative Secretariat and coordinates administrative and accounting activities, assuming joint responsibility for the resulting acts together with the Director.
