Il giorno Mercoledì 13 settembre alle ore 12 in aula B, la Dottoressa Ellen Younger, studentessa di dottorato presso la Cognitive Neuroscience Unit della Deakin University (Melbourne) terrà un seminario dal titolo: Identifying Treatment Targets within Dysfunctional Brain Networks of Neurological Disorders.

Ellen's research focuses on mapping dysfunctional brain networks in movement disorders and identifying treatment targets for brain stimulation. In this presentation, she will provide an overview of the recent work of her lab, including her use of a novel technique called ‘Coordinate Network Mapping’ to identify dysfunctional brain networks in Essential Tremor and Huntington’s Disease. The findings of these studies show that dispersed structural abnormalities in these disorders were all a part of a functionally connected brain network, which was centred in the cerebellum in essential tremor, and in the putamen and caudate in Huntington’s Disease. Ellen will also briefly discuss how these networks may be translated into treatment targets for brain stimulation.
